Distribution Engineer

Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a Power Distribution Engineer I to join our team. The role is primarily responsible for the cost‑effective conceptual and engineering solutions to upgrade, expand, maintain, and automate overhead and underground power distribution systems for our clients using various software systems and engineering/construction standards. The role ensures compliance with client procedures, design standards, state and federal regulatory requirements and safety code requirements.

They will execute projects under the lead of a Senior Engineer and will work closely with engineers performing substation, distribution, transmission, renewable energy, power storage, and communication designs. Westwood has a highly experienced and dynamic team of individuals dedicated to providing high-level professional services to our clients.

• Assist in the design and development of engineering/design projects.
• Create and modify engineering/design drawings and ensure that all engineering work complies with industry standards and regulations.
• Safely and accurately conduct field walkdowns to obtain accurate information for designs.
• Prepare technical documentation.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to project planning and execution.
• Assist in troubleshooting and resolving engineering issues as they arise.
• Engage in continuous learning to enhance technical skills and knowledge.
• Seek mentorship and guidance from senior engineers to develop professionally.

• 0-1yrs experience w/ B.S in an Engineering Discipline from an ABET accredited university.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other Windows-based programs

• Exceptional problem solving skills
• Ability to interpret data and solve problems
