Houseperson

Description

As a Houseperson, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and general appearance of public areas and corridors of the hotel. This position may require flexible scheduling availability.

• Upkeep the public areas
• Assisting with Housekeeping as needed by providing basic housekeeping duties (changing sheets, arranging towels, restocking supplies, vacuuming, dusting, cleaning, and rearranging the room after guest check‑out)
• Participate in preventative maintenance programs
• Recognize and report potential safety hazards (broken doors or railings, fire hazards, etc.) and notify supervisors of any damages, deficits, and disturbances
• Maintain shelf organization in the storerooms and replenish supplies as needed
• Clean furniture, elevators, glass, planters, light fixtures, carpets, walls, and more in public areas such as the lobby, pool, and public restrooms
• Deliver special request items such as cribs to guest rooms

• Highly motivated team player with strong initiative and desire for achievement
• Effective in handling problems in the workplace including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems as necessary
• Ability to work well in stressful situations
• Readily available and approachable for all guests while providing excellent guest service

The physical demands described here represent those required for this job. You will regularly stand, sit, or walk for extended periods, and lift or move up to 10 pounds (frequently up to 25 pounds). The number of hours you will be scheduled to work during the week is variable, based on guest occupancy, season, staffing and other factors. Island Hospitality is unable to guarantee a specific number of work hours per week.
