Job Overview
Per Diem Registered Nurse to Circulate and Scrub in the Operating Room for multiple services.
Day shifts are available Monday through Friday starting at 7:00 a.m.
Completion of Periop 101 or prior Operating Room experience is required.
- Circulate and scrub during surgeries, ensuring compliance with all safety and infection control protocols.
- Integrate evidence‑based practice and clinical expertise to provide optimal patient care.
- Collaborate with patients, families, and the inter‑professional team to identify learning needs and provide education in an engaging, understandable, and affirming manner.
- Minimize risk of harm by following established nursing practices, protocols, and performance standards.
- Use information technology to communicate, manage knowledge, mitigate error, and support ethical decision making.
- Monitor outcomes of care processes and use improvement methods to design and test changes that continuously improve quality and safety.
- Function effectively within nursing and inter‑professional teams, fostering open communication, mutual respect, and shared decision‑making.
- Act as a preceptor to appropriate staff members, actively participate in hospital‑based committees, and provide constructive feedback to integrate practice changes.
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensed in the state of practice (PA or NJ).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Specialized Diploma graduate of an accredited school of nursing required.
- Knowledge of patient‑and family‑centered practice, effective communication, patient assessment, medication administration, discharge planning, and health information documentation.
- Demonstrated ability to provide patient and family education, including child and adult education techniques.
- Experience in acute care or surgical nursing, as appropriate.
- Bachelor’s Degree (BSN) or completion of BSN or higher degree within 3 years of hire.
- One year of prior RN experience in an acute care setting.
- Active RN license in the state of practice.
Lift and carry 40–50 lbs; push/pull patients on bed or stretcher (requires 29‑lbs push force). Frequent standing, walking, and patient transfer up to 8–10 miles per shift. May involve kneeling, bending, squatting, and performing CPR as required by the role.
