Job Summary

The role of a professional nurse at Jefferson Health involves providing patient‑and‑family‑centered care, developing individualized nursing plans, and integrating evidence‑based practice to optimize patient outcomes.

• Develop nursing plans with patients and care partners, respecting cultural beliefs and values.
• Partner with patients and families to identify learning needs and deliver education.
• Minimize risk of harm by adhering to established nursing practices and protocols.
• Use information technology to communicate and manage knowledge, and support ethical decision‑making.
• Use data to monitor care outcomes and apply improvement methods to continuously enhance quality and safety.

• Provide safe, compassionate, and coordinated care based on patients’ preferences and cultural beliefs.

• Education:
  
  Specialized Diploma (required). BSN or advanced degree within 3 years of hire (preferred).
• Experience:
  
  1 year RN experience in acute care (preferred).
• Knowledge, skills, and abilities:
  Patient‑and‑family‑centered practice, cultural awareness, effective communication, patient assessment, education, medication administration, discharge planning, diagnosis, health information documentation.

• BLS – Basic Life Support (required)
• AHA – American Heart Association (required)
• RN – Licensed Registered Nurse (PA) – State of Pennsylvania or RN – Licensed Registered Nurse (NJ) – State of New Jersey (required)

• Active RN license required in state of practice.
