At Custom Craft, we don't just remodel homes. We create exceptional spaces and experiences for homeowners who value craftsmanship, professionalism, and quality.

We're looking for an Experienced Carpenter to join our team as a skilled, hands-on carpenter on residential remodeling projects. You'll bring lead-level skills and experience, with a clear path to grow into a Lead Carpenter role as Custom Craft expands. This role is ideal for someone who has mastered their craft, takes pride in delivering outstanding work, and thrives in a hands-on production environment.

If you're tired of chaotic jobsites, poor communication, and constantly putting out fires, you'll appreciate our organized approach. Our team provides detailed plans, schedules, specifications, material coordination, and project support so you can focus on what you do best: producing exceptional work.

What Success Looks Like

In this role, success means:

  • Delivering high-end residential remodeling projects that are completed safely, professionally, and to Custom Craft's quality standards.
  • Maintaining organized, clean, and efficient jobsites that respect the homeowner's home.
  • Working alongside subcontractors and trade partners to keep projects on schedule.
  • Delivering a 5-star client experience through proactive communication and attention to detail.
  • Consistently producing high-quality craftsmanship and demonstrating the kind of work ethic and standards that others can learn from.
What You'll Do

You will be a key contributor to project execution from mobilization through closeout, with the skills and mindset to eventually step into a Lead Carpenter role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute residential remodeling projects on site from start to finish.
  • Review plans, specifications, schedules, and project documentation before work begins.
  • Work collaboratively with subcontractors, vendors, and trade partners.
  • Perform advanced carpentry work throughout all phases of construction.
  • Maintain project quality, safety, schedule adherence, and jobsite organization.
  • Communicate professionally with homeowners throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Maintain daily logs, documentation, material tracking, and field reporting.
  • Identify field challenges and implement practical solutions.
  • Support and share knowledge with developing carpenters and tradespeople.
  • Help ensure projects remain on budget through effective labor and material management.
What We're Looking For

We're seeking someone who combines strong technical carpentry skills with the ability to lead projects in the field.

Qualifications

  • 5-10+ years of residential construction experience.
  • Proven experience leading projects and coordinating multiple trades.
  • Experience in high-end residential remodeling, custom homes, or luxury renovations.
  • Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and schedules.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Professional carpentry tool inventory.

Technical Skills

  • Advanced framing and structural carpentry knowledge.
  • Strong finish carpentry skills including trim, doors, windows, cabinetry, crown molding, built-ins, and custom millwork.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction documents.
  • Knowledge of residential building codes and inspection requirements.
  • Experience with project layout and material takeoffs.
Why Join Custom Craft?

We've built a reputation for doing things the right way.

When you join Custom Craft, you'll find:

  • Organized, well-planned projects.
  • Clear schedules and documentation.
  • Strong support from project management and office staff.
  • Clients who value quality craftsmanship.
  • A company that refuses to cut corners.
  • Ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
  • A culture built on accountability, respect, and continuous improvement.
  • Competitive compensation ($34-$38/hr) that reflects your skills and experience.
  • Health coverage and retirement plan to support your long-term wellbeing.

  • Deliver 5-Star Client Experiences
