RequirementsOur Ideal Candidate will possess the following:
- Master's or bachelor's degree
- (Preferred) degree in a behavioral science discipline from an accredited university
- Knowledge of child/adolescent development and experience working with adolescents, children, families with mental health, drug and alcohol, and other emotional problems.

We are seeking a School Counselor to join our team in Lansdale, PA. This is a part‑time position in Montgomery County (Montco) Student Assistance Program (SAP).
Pay: $30.00 per hour
Position DetailsThe Merakey Montco SAP is a school‑based, preventative program designed to support students facing non‑academic challenges such as mental health concerns, substance use, and behavioral issues. Required by the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE), each school hosts a SAP Core Team to identify at‑risk students and connect them to appropriate services, promoting early intervention over punitive measures. The program offers psycho educational groups, short‑term individual support, and evidence‑based prevention programs like Teen Intervene and Too Good for Drugs.
SAP also provides classroom‑based education and school‑wide initiatives to reduce risk factors and promote student wellness.
- Provide short‑term, psycho educational groups and individual support to students.
- Facilitate evidence‑based early intervention programs such as Teen Intervene, InDepth, and Marijuana Brief Intervention.
- Conduct SAP screenings with students and families to assess stressors and risk levels.
- Deliver school‑wide prevention through classroom lessons (e.g., Too Good for Drugs, Signs of Suicide).
- Participate in weekly SAP Core Team meetings to provide feedback and clinical observations.
- Consult with school staff on mental health and drug/alcohol concerns.
- Attend and contribute to parent, teacher, and counselor meetings when appropriate.
- Refer high‑risk students to additional assessments or acute services as needed.
- Provide written and verbal feedback on assessments when authorized.
- Support students in crisis and provide consultation to school staff.
- Collaborate with families to access necessary resources and services.
- Maintain positive working relationships with school districts.
- Present to classrooms or faculty on behavioral health topics upon request.
- Attend monthly Merakey business meetings and supervision sessions.
- Keep accurate and timely records of all services provided.
- Submit required documentation and reports on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the program manager.
