POSITION SUMMARY:The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for providing daily technical and process support in a designated area within the Operations Department.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:- Process/equipment troubleshooting (including process control systems) to improve batch quality and assistance with cost reduction, process reliability and quality improvement programs.
- Testing new and existing production procedures
- Organize and manage manufacturing workflows and resources
- Optimize facility layouts, production lines, machine operations and network performance
- Resolve issues and delays in production
- Collaborate with other engineers, contractors and suppliers
- Ensure that manufacturing procedures follow safety and environmental regulations
- Upgrade systems and processes with new technology
- Expectation is that a successful applicant will develop skill sets and work on small scale capital projects.
- The main responsibility for this individual will be coordinating/facilitating several efficiency initiatives within the department and following through on them to the point of realized benefits.
- Confers with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards.
- Works with in-house maintenance and outside contractors to facilitate repairs & improvements.
- Analyzes and plans space requirements, and workflow, and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- B.S. in Chemical Engineering or related engineering field required.
- 3+ years’ experience as a manufacturing engineer or similar role preferred.
- Must be organized to effectively work multiple projects required.
- Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint preferred.
- Strong communication skills (written and oral) preferred.
