Our plant, located in Lansing, IL, pasteurizes raw eggs to remove harmful bacteria for a safer product to the food service industry.

JOB SUMMARY: This position has the responsibility to comply with Safety work rules at all times as well as an obligation to reinforce Safety as a Core Value. Ensures that all policies, procedures and activities, related to Food Safety & Quality, are followed and complied with uniformly, in an effort to reduce product and process variability. Ensures regulatory compliance.

• Break down pallets of raw product and load conveyor belt to transport product to pasteurizers.
• Check product quality (dirty, broken, etc.).
• Keep machines running efficiently.
• Make sure material is kept separated, neat and stored properly and labeled.
• Follow all HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) guidelines.
• Perform repetitive motion with hands while disassembling/assembling pallets and loading materials onto conveyor.
• Move palletized material using manual pallet jack.
• Watch, correct and report safety issues.
• Communicate issues to production management and maintenance.
• Adhere to safe work practices, follow GMPs, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained.
• Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality or personnel safety.
• Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

• No prior experience or training.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in oral form. Ability to deal with problems involving one concrete variable in standardized situations.

OTHER

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
• Must be able to safely lift 35 lbs. occasionally.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to stand on hard surface for most of shift.
• Able to work weekends, holidays and overtime as needed. The pay range for this position is $17.00 to $20.00 per hour.
