Staff Accountant

Description

We are looking for a skilled PART TIME Staff Accountant to join our team in Lansing, Michigan. This is a Contract to permanent position, offering an excellent opportunity for growth and long-term collaboration. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in accounting practices, including tax calculations, sales tax management, and proficiency with accounting software.

Responsibilities:

- Maintain accurate general ledger entries and ensure compliance with accounting standards.

- Process and record journal entries efficiently, ensuring accurate financial reporting.

- Utilize Quick Books to manage financial data and streamline accounting operations.

- Handle sales tax calculations and filings with precision and attention to detail.

- Compile reports from proprietary software and integrate them into Quick Books.

- Assist with tax-related calculations to ensure accuracy in financial documentation.

- Support the preparation of financial statements and other accounting reports.

- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of accounting tasks.

Requirements - Proven experience in accounting practices, including general ledger management.

- Proficiency in Quick Books for financial data management.

- Strong understanding of sales tax regulations and filing processes.

- Ability to accurately process journal entries and maintain organized records.

- Familiarity with tax calculations and related accounting tasks.

- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

- Effective communication skills for collaborating with team members.

- Relevant certifications or coursework in accounting are a plus.
