Property Accountant

Brief Description

The Property Accountant works with the Accounting Team and Property Managers to ensure accurate, timely, and customer service-focused accounting to the communities. The position will provide administrative accounting, clerical, and bookkeeping duties for residential, commercial, and senior living properties.

• Accounts Receivable
• Perform month-end closing duties (AR, Intercompany, Security deposit accts)
• Make deposits and accurately post checks to customers' accounts
• Research and solve payment discrepancies for internal and external clients
• Makes adjustments to accounts as needed
• Monthly bank reconciliations and posting of associated journal entries
• Accurately enters data into software programs
• Prepare monthly customer statements. Works with Regional Management and Accounting Management to troubleshoot errors.
• Communicate with co-workers, management, clients, and others in a courteous and professional manner
• Assist with other miscellaneous duties as assigned

• Minimum Associates degree; 4-year degree preferred.
• Ability to run and analyze accounting reports
• Experience in property management or related field preferred
• Team player and ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing demands
• Analytical and problem-solving skills
• Multi-site accounting experience preferred
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel is a plus
• Strong computer skills – strong preference given to those experienced with Yardi software
