Hybrid Work Arrangement
This position can be hybrid up to 50% of the pay period. The candidate is expected to work in the office for at least the first two weeks, with the remainder at Grandview Plaza in Lansing.
Accounting Assistant 5-E7This position is responsible for the pre‑audit and processing of vendor payments for the CFA/FOA utilities budget in SIGMA. Responsibilities include processing commodity and non‑commodity payments, journal vouchers, and correcting entries in SIGMA, as well as interacting with other department staff and vendors.
Accounting Assistant 8This advanced level position handles pre‑audit and processing of payments for the CFA/FOA utilities budget in SIGMA, reconciling commodity and non‑commodity payments. The role includes journal vouchers and correction documents, ensuring correct posting to balance sheet accounts, proper chart‑of‑accounts coding, and correct event‑type application. It also involves explaining work instructions to other Accounting Assistants and adapting guidelines as necessary, while interacting with department staff and vendors.
Required Education and Experience- High school diploma or equivalent.

No specific type or amount required. - Accounting Assistant 6:
One year of administrative support experience. - Accounting Assistant E7:
Two years of administrative support experience, including one year equivalent to an Accounting Assistant 6, involving posting financial data to ledgers, preparing invoices/vouchers, reviewing and coding financial information, and maintaining account balances. - Accounting Assistant 8:
Three years of administrative support experience, including one year equivalent to an Accounting Assistant E7, involving posting financial data to ledgers, preparing invoices/vouchers, reviewing and coding financial information, and maintaining account balances.
