state budget office is responsible for coordinating all aspects of the state budget, including development of the governor's executive budget recommendation, monitoring of the budget to ensure continued fiscal balance, and other budgetary analysis functions. Learn more higan.gov/budget.

statewide integrated governmental management applications (sigma) is housed within state budget office and is the backbone for the state of michigan government operations, supporting budget, financial management, procurement, timekeeping and labor cost allocation, inventory management, and grant/project accounting.

the role of sigma support staff is to support the daily operations of the system, working towards continuous improvement of sigma's functionality, providing training and help desk resources to users.

• front-line reviewer of production work requests to improve the system functionality through configuration changes or enhancements.
• support sigma accounting related standardization for agency and central reference data format, forms, reports and processes.
• assist with a variety of functions, including tier 2 support for agency identified issues, regression testing, defect recreation, testsavvy script review and more.

• bachelor's degree with at least 24 semester (36 term) credits in accounting. Candidates earning a bachelor’s degree at the end of the current semester/school year may be considered with unofficial transcripts.
• foreign degree credentials must be evaluated or converted by an accepted organization, unless recognized by the council on higher education accreditation.
• experience equivalent to accountant 9, 10 or p11:
• • accountant 9 – no specific type or amount required.
• • accountant 10 – one year of professional experience performing or auditing accounting data classification and preparing related financial and managerial reports.
• • accountant p11 – two years of professional experience, including one year equivalent to accountant 10, auditor 10, or assistant auditor general 10.
• possession of a certified public accountant (cpa) certification may substitute for one year of accountant p11 experience.
• possession of a certified management accountant (cma) certification may substitute for six months of accountant p11 experience.
• work location: office in lansing, mi. Hybrid work option: one day on-site and up to four days remote per week. Must be able to work in michigan; relocation expenses not reimbursed.
