Accounts Payable Specialist

Description Our client, a large and growing manufacturing organization, is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join their accounting team. This position will be responsible for high-volume invoice processing, vendor account management, and ensuring the accurate and timely payment of invoices. The ideal candidate will have experience working within a large ERP system, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and possess exceptional attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities Process a high volume of vendor invoices accurately and efficiently. Review invoices for proper approvals, coding, and supporting documentation. Match invoices to purchase orders and receiving documentation. Manage vendor relationships and respond to payment inquiries in a detail oriented manner. Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies promptly. Prepare and process weekly check runs, ACH payments, and wire transfers. Assist with month-end close activities, including accruals and account reconciliations.

Maintain accurate vendor records and ensure compliance with company policies. Collaborate with purchasing, receiving, and operations teams to resolve invoice issues. Support audit requests and provide documentation as needed. Identify opportunities to improve AP processes and increase efficiency. Requirements 3+ years of Accounts Payable experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Experience processing high volumes of invoices in a fast-paced setting.

Strong experience working within a large ERP system (SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar). Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, lookups, and data analysis. Strong understanding of three-way matching and AP best practices. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Strong communication and problem-solving abilities. Ability to prioritize deadlines and manage multiple responsibilities.
