Position Overview
This position assists Records Maintenance staff in accurately and efficiently maintaining active Central Office prisoner records. Responsibilities include adding new commitment files to the file tracking system, sorting and filing large volumes of material, tracking file movement, assisting users in locating files, retrieving and distributing requested prisoner files across the building, and providing backup for Record Storage, Records Discharges, and the Mail Room when necessary.
StudentAssistant Details
Student Assistant positions are considered permanent non‑career positions until college graduation. These positions are eligible to work up to 129 hours per month (including summer months, even when not enrolled in classes) and are designed to accommodate college class schedules.
Requirements- Current enrollment in high school, vocational or technical school, or a post‑secondary educational institution.
- Three (3) signed letters of recommendation.
- Provide current evidence of enrollment or acceptance to an educational institution.
- Knowledge of terminal digit and straight numeric filing (helpful but not essential).
- Ability to follow instructions, work as part of a team, communicate well with others, follow chain of command and be flexible when priorities and procedures change.
- Some knowledge of terminology and subject matter relevant to the work.
- Some knowledge of office equipment or materials used in the work.
- Ability to use a computer.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Ability to learn the work of the agency.
- Ability to communicate effectively with others.
- Ability to maintain favorable public relations.
