This position provides executive support for the Bureau Director of the Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration (MIOSHA). The role includes full range of administrative and executive support activities such as maintaining the Director’s schedule, arranging travel, processing incoming mail and responding to inquiries on the Director’s behalf, attending quarterly managers meetings, and providing guidance to division supervisors on the Director’s behalf.
The position also serves as backup to the agency personnel liaison as needed.
Possible remote/hybrid schedule based on performance and operational need, but all work must be performed in Michigan.
If you currently reside outside of Michigan, you must relocate to Michigan to perform duties.
Responsibilities- Maintain Director’s schedule.
- Arrange travel itineraries.
- Process and respond to incoming mail and inquiries.
- Attend and contribute to quarterly managers meetings.
- Provide guidance and counsel to division supervisors on the Director’s behalf.
- Serve as backup to the agency personnel liaison.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Six years of administrative support experience, including advanced administrative support work (at least three years equivalent to advanced level E8, Secretary E8 or Legal Secretary E8); or two years equivalent to a Secretary 9, Legal Secretary 9, or Senior Executive Management Assistant 9; or one year equivalent to a Division Head Legal Secretary 10 or Executive Secretary E10.
