:
Responsible for the daily coordination of the clerical functions of the SMG practices.
Essential Duties
:
This job description is intended to cover the minimum essential duties assigned on a regular basis. Associates may be asked to perform additional duties as assigned by their leader. Leadership has the right to alter or modify the duties of the position.
- Answers the phones, records messages, coordinates communications within the practices
- Assists the Supervisor and Medical Director(s) with the preparation and maintenance of the multi-physician, multi-site schedules and calendars
- Coordinates and schedules meetings, conferences and telecommunicaiton equipment, prepares meeting agenda packets, takes and transcribes meeting minutes and maintains meeting records
- Maintains the calendars of the Medical Director(s), the Director of Operations and the department calendar, coordinates and schedules interviews and appointments with other department caregivers
- Establishes and maintains efficient record keeping and filing systems, including physician directories
- Retrieves census and demographic data from the electronic medical record and prepares reports
- Maintains administrative policy and procedure manuals with the Supervisor
- Maintains physician payroll attestation forms and records
- Processes billing demographic data and serves as a liaison with SMG billing Caregivers
- Monitors and orders department supplies and materials
- Acts as a liaison to other Health System departments and community groups to obtain or relay information.
Work Experience Minimum of three years of Administrative Assistant or Secretarial experience Education High school diploma or GED Associate's degree in office administration or related field preferred Specialized Knowledge and Skills Demonstrates a positive team attitude and has interpersonal skills to effectively and appropriately communicate with providers, co-workers and all others
Proficient in word processing and spreadsheet management; ability to demonstrate keyboard skills
Demonstrated ability to exercise discretion and judgment in relaying information, responding to requests, and prioritizing workloads
Advanced coursework in medical business office, medical assisting or a related field preferred
Prior experience with an EMR preferred
