Summary

Perform light vehicle maintenance as part of team in largest modern facility. Training, Tools, Technology all provided.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Drains oil from crankcase and refills with required amount of oil.
  • Replaces oil and air filters.
  • Inspects vehicle fluid levels, replaces or replenishes as necessary.
  • Checks tire pressure and adds air if needed.
  • Lubricates moving parts with specified lubricants.
  • Reports machinery defects or malfunctions to supervisor.
  • Ensures that customers' cars are kept clean. Notifies service advisor immediately of anything that has happened to change the appearance or condition of the vehicle.
  • Maintain a high level of grooming, hygiene and uniform appearance.
  • Conduct all business with sincerity, honesty and genuine concern for the customers.
  • Keep within the estimates that have been given to the customer.
  • Carefully inspect every repair order and vehicle for proper job completion.
  • Clean the windshield and vacuum every vehicle.
  • Advise the Manager of any repairs or services that are needed.
  • Advise the Service Manager of any situation that jeopardizes the safety, welfare or integrity of the Dealership, its employees or customers.
  • Performs work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
  • Sells lubrication, safety inspection, and other related services.
  • Keeps shop area neat and clean.
  • Maintains and is accountable for all dealership-owned tools and manuals. Returns them to the proper place and in the same condition as when they were received.
  • Understands, keeps abreast of, and complies with federal, state, and local regulations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know, etc.
  • Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner.
MARGINAL DUTIES

  • Communicates with parts department to obtain needed parts.
  • Participates in manufacturer-sponsored training programs as assigned by service manager.

EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE

No prior experience or training.

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively with customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized…
