Client Service Leader – USACE Military Programs
Seeking a highly qualified business development professional to lead and expand our Architect‑Engineer (AE) and Construction portfolios with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE). The role involves growth initiatives across Kansas City, Middle East, Europe, and Omaha Districts, aligning CDM Smith’s core competencies with USACE priorities.
Responsibilities- Serve as the client‑facing representative, attuned to USACE program initiatives, budgeting, legislation, and organizational changes.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities in AE and Construction services with high priority USACE divisions and districts, both CONUS and OCONUS.
- Position and promote digital solutions (e.g., data analytics, digital delivery, asset management, automation) as part of client strategy, pursuits, and project delivery.
- Leverage an established business network of client decision‑makers and teaming partners.
- Act as capture manager for proposal efforts, managing and communicating among diverse technical and marketing teams.
- Engage with Program and Project Managers to deliver quality projects meeting scope, schedule, budget, and quality commitments, ensuring client satisfaction.
- Maintain awareness of the federal marketplace related to business opportunities, including competitors, partners, and subcontractors/subconsultants.
- Contribute to the firm’s stature by participating in leadership roles in professional societies and associations.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- 15 years of related experience in business development for federal or military‑sector clients.
- A strong business network and ability to travel domestically and internationally as required.
- Previous work experience with USACE military programs.
- Proven success in business development and long‑term relationship management for federal‑sector clients.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; excellent interpersonal, time‑management, and organizational abilities.
- Experience working for or serving USACE, and familiarity with OCONUS federal programs/projects.
