Senior Manager of Commercial Pricing and Contract Strategy
The Senior Manager of Commercial Pricing and Contract Strategy supports the Associate Director in optimizing revenue, ensuring compliance, and maintaining competitive positioning through strategic pricing and contracting. This role also leads government pricing compliance, drives cross‑functional collaboration, and enhances internal controls to meet regulatory and organizational objectives.
This role combines high‑level pricing strategy development with an in‑depth focus on government programs and compliance. As a strategic partner to the Associate Director of Commercial Pricing and Contract Strategy, the Senior Manager will influence revenue optimization efforts, ensure adherence to regulatory frameworks, and drive cross‑functional initiatives aimed at achieving organizational success in a highly competitive marketplace.
The ideal candidate will possess an understanding of the generic pharmaceutical market, exceptional analytical skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced and complex environment.
Job Duties- Pricing Strategy Support: Collaborate with the Associate Director to develop and execute competitive pricing strategies aligned with revenue and market objectives.
- Market Analysis: Conduct market and competitive analyses to inform pricing decisions and identify growth opportunities.
- Government Pricing Administration: Oversee the preparation, validation, and submission of government pricing reports (e.g., ASP, AMP, Best Price, and 340B) while ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Cross‑Functional
Collaboration:
Partner with Legal, Sales, Marketing, and Finance teams to align pricing, contracting, and compliance efforts with organizational goals. - Compliance and Policy Management: Interpret complex regulations, manage audits, and ensure adherence to government program requirements such as those outlined by CMS and the Medicaid Drug Rebate Program.
- Process Improvement: Identify inefficiencies in pricing and reporting systems, implement improvements, and streamline processes.
- Team Leadership: Mentor and lead a team of professionals, fostering collaboration, innovation, and professional growth.
- Data and Analytics: Leverage data analytics to support pricing forecasts, rebate strategies, and actionable business insights.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Public Policy, or a related field.
- At least five years (5+) of progressive experience in commercial pricing, government programs, or contract strategy within the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry, with at least three (3+) years focused on generic pharmaceuticals.
- Skilled in evaluating market trends and creating pricing strategies that drive profitability and enhance market competitiveness.
- Experienced in utilizing pricing tools, ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Vistex), and advanced analytics software.
- Adept at understanding and applying complex regulations to inform and guide corporate decision‑making.
- Ability to lead cross‑functional teams and establish partnerships across multiple departments.
- Demonstrated ability to develop competitive pricing strategies that align with revenue, compliance, and market considerations.
- Strong ability to leverage data and predictive modeling for informed pricing decisions and projections.
- Proactive approach to identifying inefficiencies and implementing systematic improvements.
- Exceptional ability to present complex pricing strategies and compliance issues in a clear, actionable manner.
- MBA or Master’s Degree.
