Lead Estimator

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Estimator to join our team, responsible for creating and managing estimates for a variety of projects in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. This role involves direct interaction with clients, developing accurate and competitive estimates using Xactimate software, and overseeing projects to ensure timely completion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop precise scopes with minimal over/under estimations.
  • Create detailed floor plans and multi-level/roof sketches using Xactimate Sketch.
  • Possess in-depth knowledge of applicable building codes and standards.
  • Establish and adhere to budgets, promptly addressing any overages.
  • Follow the BELFOR naming convention for all documentation related to estimates, proposals, and change orders.
  • Maintain construction schedules and collaborate with trades and management to ensure timely project completion, proposing additional resources when necessary.
  • Exhibit proficiency in various techniques including source removal, decontamination, and structure cleaning.
  • Engage in ongoing training with BELFOR University to enhance skills and achieve Estimator Level 2 or 3 User Certification.
  • Work independently and manage personal workload efficiently.
  • Ensure vehicle safety and maintenance inspections are up to date and maintain a clean serviceable vehicle.
  • Complete all required accident and incident documentation in a timely manner.
  • Utilize strong analytical, quantitative, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Contribute to the ongoing improvement of BELFOR USA Group, Inc., positioning it as an industry leader.
  • Adhere to company policies and standards.
Requirements
  • Build and maintain a local network of clients, primarily insurance adjusters, community business owners, and municipalities, with a book of business between $2M-$4M.
  • Act as the primary contact for owners, adjusters, and consultants.
  • Oversee scope development, negotiations, and agreements with customers.
  • Coordinate emergency services, including board‑ups and various damage repairs as required.
  • Identify potential site hazards such as asbestos, lead paint, and mold.
  • Conduct oneself with professionalism and courtesy at all times, being proactive and responsive to information requests.
  • Comply with industry TPA Program standards.
  • Exhibit a strong understanding of customer service principles and practices.
  • Work efficiently under time constraints to meet deadlines.
  • Pay close attention to detail, prioritizing the safeguarding of others' property and information.
  • Participate in BELFOR-sponsored operations and safety training courses as required.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Construction, Restoration, or Contents Estimating.
  • Experience in residential estimating exceeding $50,000 and commercial estimating up to $100,000.
  • Completion of BELFOR Estimating Platform Level 1 and 2 certification.
  • Successful completion of Xactimate Intermediate training.
  • Experience with national rate and material invoicing.
  • Proficient in English, both written and spoken.
  • Understanding of MSDS data sheets and their relevance to job safety.
  • Adherence to BELFOR Estimate Format Standards for all estimates and proposals.
  • Extensive customer service experience.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills and familiarity with Xactimate software.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor and appearance, with excellent telephone communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and vendors.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to frequently lift over 50 lbs without assistance.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting may be required.
  • Manual dexterity is necessary for keyboarding and repetitive tasks.
  • Willingness and ability to bend, crouch, or stand as required.
