Field Service Supervisor

Clean Harbors in Mason, MI is seeking a Field Service Supervisor to join the Abatement Team. The role plans, leads, organizes, and coordinates daily operations of the service line crew, ensuring proper operation of equipment, driving operational efficiencies, and timely documentation.

Location and Travel
Travel role (60–80%) across the United States. New hires attend a two‑week training academy; travel expenses are paid and per diem provided.

Compensation
Hourly: $28.00 – $32.00.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure Health and Safety is the priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes.
  • Read and verify work orders, ensuring all required equipment is available and operational before starting jobs.
  • Inspect equipment and general work area prior to each job and correct deficiencies that could cause accidents or harm to equipment.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on equipment when required.
  • Complete all required paperwork, including service receipts, and submit to management.
  • Train Technicians I and II in equipment operation and service line processes.
  • Operate all necessary service line equipment in accordance with training and safety procedures.
  • Practice safety procedures during work.
  • Provide industrial services using appropriate techniques and regulations.
  • Manually clean, install, fit, and repair valves, caps, hoses, pumps, gaskets, and other equipment.
  • Maintain good housekeeping and cleanliness.
  • Check equipment at the start of each shift.
  • Lead safety meetings and enforce HPC safety policies.
  • Meet progress deadlines and utilize resources efficiently.
  • Instruct, give feedback, and assist crew to complete jobs per client requirements and company policies.
  • Enforce company employee policies and may remove employee from job when required.
  • Follow all local, state, and federal compliance regulations.
  • Safely operate vehicles per U.S. DOT, local, state, and federal requirements.
  • Observe all corporate operating guidelines and environmental health and safety procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Be on call for emergency response on a rotating basis every other week.
  • Perform site‑remediation, equipment decontamination, and handle hazardous materials.
Qualifications
  • Experience in environmental field service operations, construction, manufacturing, or similar industry.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Preferred: experience supervising asbestos abatement projects.
  • Manage asbestos abatement and remediation projects in compliance with all applicable regulations.
  • On‑site management of projects may be required.
  • Extended periods of travel expected.
  • Ensure proper handling, containment, transportation, and disposal of asbestos‑containing materials (ACMs).
  • Coordinate air monitoring, site decontamination, and final clearance testing with certified professionals.
  • Ability to be on‑call for emergency response situations.
  • Prefer ability to pull a trailer via pick‑up truck.
  • Interface with clients and management.
  • Manage project‑related vendors.
  • Reconcile and review all job‑related documentation.
  • Work in confined spaces for periods of time.
  • Perform physical functions per job requirements.
  • Successfully complete background check, drug test, and physical by position.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in industrial emergency response, Hazmat clean‑up, confined space entry.
  • Supervising/working in confined spaces.
