Commodity Manager

Our client, a global automotive manufacturer, is looking for a Strategic Commodity Buyer to lead a major direct material category supporting North American operations. This is a high visibility role with broad ownership across sourcing strategy, supplier management, commercial negotiations, and cross functional collaboration.

• Develop and execute the sourcing strategy for a critical direct material category
• Lead RFQs, supplier evaluations, commercial negotiations, and contract management
• Drive cost reduction initiatives and support procurement performance targets
• Conduct market analysis, benchmarking, and total cost assessments
• Partner with engineering, operations, quality, finance, and program teams on new launches and ongoing production
• Support supplier development, capacity planning, and supply continuity

• 5+ years of procurement, purchasing, or strategic sourcing experience in manufacturing
• Experience managing metals or fabricated direct materials preferred
• Strong negotiation, supplier management, and analytical skills
• Advanced Excel and cost modeling capability
• Automotive industry experience preferred
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related field
• Willingness to travel periodically within North America

• Act as a key subject matter resource for your portfolio, with room to shape strategy
• Visibility across procurement leadership, operations, engineering, and executive stakeholders
