Sourcing Manager

Location: Hybrid – Any CMS Energy Service Center in Lower Michigan (Jackson, Lansing, Kalamazoo, Grand Rapids, Royal Oak, Livonia, Saginaw, Bay City, Flint, etc.)

Duration: Until Jul 2027 (with a possibility of extension)

CMS Energy is seeking a Sourcing Manager to support growing business demands across multiple functional areas, including Electric, Gas, Generation, IT, and Corporate Functions. The ideal candidate will have experience managing sourcing activities, contract negotiations, supplier engagements, and procurement processes while ensuring compliance with organizational policies and procedures.

• Manage end-to-end sourcing and procurement activities for assigned business units.
• Develop and execute sourcing strategies to meet business objectives.
• Lead contract negotiations and collaborate with suppliers to secure favorable terms and pricing.
• Review, draft, and manage contract documentation and approval workflows.
• Coordinate Request for Proposal (RFP), Request for Information (RFI), and bid solicitation processes.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to identify sourcing requirements and procurement opportunities.
• Route contracts and procurement documents for required approvals and signatures.
• Maintain procurement records and supplier information within ERP systems.
• Support supplier performance management and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and procedures.

• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Procurement, Finance, Engineering, or related field.
• 2–4 years of sourcing, procurement, or supply chain experience.
• Experience negotiating contracts and working with contract structures and terms.
• Understanding of procurement processes including RFPs, RFIs, and supplier evaluations.
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP or similar platforms.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

• Utility industry experience (Electric, Gas, Energy, or Generation) preferred but not required.
• Professional certifications such as CPSM, CPM, CSCP, PMP, or equivalent are a plus.
• Experience supporting IT, corporate services, or operational sourcing categories.
