Job OverviewBusiness Consultant – this role requires periodic office presence in Troy & Southfield, MI. The consultant serves as an ally and partner to financial advisors, delivering consultation and guidance to improve practice performance and profitability. Responsibilities include managing projects, providing strategic recommendations, and fostering advisor growth.
Responsibilities- Organize and execute assigned business projects on behalf of clients—including recruiting, business structure, payroll, products, and promotional campaigns—according to client requirements and recommendations.
- Meet with assigned clients to perform initial assessments of problematic situations and gather information through shadowing, interviews, and surveys.
- Analyze and interpret data to identify areas of improvement and formulate actionable recommendations presented to clients.
- Partner with clients to implement plans, resolve issues, and provide ongoing support.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for advisors and their teams in a consulting and coaching capacity.
- Help advisors navigate available products and services and keep them informed of LPL, America Group, and regulatory changes.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to support advisor needs.
- Analyze current business practices, recommend models, tools, products, and services to advisors.
- Create and implement productivity initiatives and facilitate completion of advisor business plans.
- Implement client segmentation, value proposition, and client service models.
- Provide succession planning advice and guidance, discuss team structures, define roles, deliver business valuations, and share best practices.
- Organize and facilitate periodic advisor study groups, focus groups, and regional meetings.
- Incorporate sponsors, industry experts, and best‑practice workshops to enhance advisor capabilities.
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Business, Finance, Economics, Administration, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience in the financial services industry and consulting.
- Familiarity with business management software (e.g., Salesforce, Redtail, E‑Money).
- Series7,63,65 and/or66 licenses.
- Willingness to travel locally and on occasion nationally.
- Analytical mindset, strong data collection, organization, time‑management, and communication skills.
- Experience working with independent financial advisors and knowledge of investments, financial operations, insurance, and the broker/dealer landscape (preferred).
- Pay Range: $ – $ (base salary varies by experience, skill, education, and geographic location).
