Job Description

The Michigan State Lottery is looking for a dependable, honest, motivated, and hardworking individual with a positive attitude and strong ethical standards to join our team. The Michigan State Lottery was established under the authority of Public Act 239 of 1972 to generate funds to support Michigan’s public-school system and generates revenue through the sale of Lottery tickets at retail locations and over the internet.

Profits from lottery revenue are used to supplement state education programs.

This position is responsible for supporting the functions of the Bureau of State Lottery drawing systems and processes. This position will perform and coordinate with Lottery Gaming Vendors, Internal Control System Vendors, WDIV Studio, and the Multi-State Lottery (MUSL) all drawings and bureau functions with nothing less than total integrity necessary to maximize net revenues to supplement state education programs. The position is also responsible for conducting research and analysis of system drawing data, organization and maintenance of reports in Cypress related to system outputs, balance drawing data during draw time between the Internal Control System (ICS), WDIV Studio, and the Gaming Vendors, support the development and testing of new games and provide spreadsheets for reporting and tracking purposes as well as processing downloads and uploads of data, production reports, and creation of ad hoc reports.

The Scheduling Unit is responsible for supporting Lottery drawing processing system functions including Multi State Lottery (MUSL) drawing programs; and providing expertise, research, insights and technical support.

• Support Lottery drawing processing system functions including MUSL drawing programs.
• Coordinate with Lottery Gaming Vendors, ICS Vendors, WDIV Studio, and MUSL to ensure drawings and bureau functions are performed with integrity.
• Research and analyze system drawing data; maintain reports related to system outputs.
• Balance drawing data during draw time between ICS, WDIV Studio, and Gaming Vendors.
• Develop and test new games; create spreadsheets for reporting and tracking.
• Process downloads and uploads of data; generate production and ad hoc reports.
• Provide technical support and subject-matter expertise related to lottery drawing processes.

Education
Possession of a bachelor’s degree in any major.

Experience
Departmental Analyst 9 – No specific type or amount required. Departmental Analyst 10 – One year of professional experience. Departmental Analyst P11 – Two years of professional experience, including one year of experience equivalent to the intermediate (10) level in state service. Alternate Education and Experience – Departmental Analyst 9-12:
Educational level typically acquired through high school and the equivalent of at least two years of full-time active-duty experience at or above the E-6 level may substitute for the education requirement.

Under Civil Service Regulation 3.06, you may be sanctioned from applying to positions with the State of Michigan if you make any false statements or omissions of a material fact during the selection process.
  
  Civil Service Rule 2-7 requires that all persons who are not currently state employees submit to and pass a pre-employment drug test. This urine sample test must be administered within 24 hours, or your offer may be rescinded. An applicant must remain at the testing site until the testing process is completed and permitted up to 3 hours to provide a sufficient specimen.
  
  It is considered a refusal to test if an applicant fails to provide a sufficient amount of urine for a drug test within the allowed time. Positions within the Bureau of State Lottery will require a criminal history background check.
