The Commercial Roofing Production Superintendent leads commercial roofing crews in the field and ensures projects are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and within budget. This role is responsible for translating the project plan into successful field execution while maintaining high standards for quality, customer communication, safety, documentation, and team development.
The Superintendent is expected to lead by example and help create a strong team-based culture built around accountability, professionalism, communication, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities Crew Execution & OutputConfirm site readiness before mobilization
Lead crew execution, pacing, and daily production
Review scope, sequence, safety, and GC expectations with crew
Monitor labor productivity and quality standards
Communicate scope changes immediately to Project Manager
Customer ServiceConduct preconstruction meeting with GC/client
Serve as primary on-site contact during construction
Communicate project changes and unforeseen conditions proactively
Lead final walkthrough and obtain project acceptance
Training & DevelopmentTrain crews on proper installation methods and standards
Mentor crew members through hands‑on leadership
Stay current on roofing systems, products, and manufacturer requirements
DocumentationUpload daily logs and photos
Document decking replacement and pre-existing conditions
Track production quantities, labor hours, and project progress
Complete final closeout checklist before leaving site
Safety & Crew DevelopmentConduct and document daily safety meetings
Enforce OSHA and company safety standards
Promote safe work practices and crew accountability
Maintain professional leadership on all job sites
Create a team-oriented culture focused on communication, trust, and accountability
Promote collaboration and professionalism among crew members
Address issues quickly and respectfully while maintaining high standards
Encourage crew development through coaching, recognition, and consistent expectations
Help create a work environment where employees feel valued, supported, and challenged to improve
Qualifications3–5+ years commercial roofing leadership experience
Strong understanding of commercial roofing systems
Ability to read plans and specifications
Strong communication and leadership skills
OSHA 30 certification preferred
Spanish speaking preferred
