Responsibilities

The Design & Construction Technologies program seeks a Lab Assistant with expertise in building systems and carpentry. The ideal candidate will have experience with building project setup and a solid understanding of building structures and construction techniques. A strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and technologies is essential. This role involves the upkeep of the construction lab, ensuring all equipment is well maintained and functioning properly.

The Lab Assistant will also manage inventory, keeping materials and supplies properly stocked and organized for ongoing projects and testing. The position requires the ability to drive college vehicles as part of the job duties.

Qualifications
  • Associate’s Degree in a Building Construction‑related field, OR High School Diploma/GED and one or both of the following:
    • Relevant work experience or some college coursework in a Building Construction‑related field.
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record with less than 4 points.

Regular on campus presence is expected for all LCC employment. Employees must be residents of the State of Michigan and perform all work within the state. Final candidates will be subject to a criminal background check as part of the employment process.
