Electrical Construction Project Manager
We are hiring an experienced Electrical Construction Project Manager to lead large-scale commercial projects across healthcare, institutional, industrial, and complex commercial environments.
This is a hands-on project leadership position within a self-performing electrical contractor. You will take direct ownership of projects from preconstruction and turnover through field execution, financial management, and final closeout.
The ideal candidate understands commercial electrical systems, can effectively lead field and office coordination, and has a proven ability to manage multiple active projects without heavy oversight. You will work closely with general contractors, clients, foremen, BIM/VDC, estimating, prefabrication, vendors, and internal leadership to ensure each project is delivered safely, profitably, and on schedule.
Responsibilities- Lead commercial electrical construction projects from preconstruction and project turnover through completion and closeout
- Develop and maintain project schedules, manpower plans, procurement timelines, and execution strategies
- Coordinate electricians, foremen, subcontractors, vendors, general contractors, and internal project teams
- Serve as a primary contact for clients, inspectors, general contractors, and other project stakeholders
- Review electrical drawings, specifications, contracts, schedules, RFIs, submittals, and scope requirements
- Manage project budgets, cost forecasts, labor productivity, billing, and overall financial performance
- Prepare, price, negotiate, and track change orders throughout the project lifecycle
- Coordinate with BIM/VDC and prefabrication teams to resolve conflicts and support efficient field installation
- Partner with estimating and preconstruction teams to ensure accurate scope turnover and project planning
- Identify labor, material, scheduling, and coordination risks before they affect project delivery
- Lead project meetings and provide clear updates regarding progress, staffing, costs, and operational challenges
- Oversee procurement, material deliveries, subcontractor performance, and project documentation
- Maintain accountability for safety, quality, schedule, profitability, and client satisfaction
- Manage multiple active commercial electrical projects across Michigan
