We invite you to become an integral part of our specialized team at UMH Sparrow Lansing Main Hospital, where your expertise will directly impact patient outcomes in a vibrant, Level I trauma center setting. In this pivotal position, you will provide a broad range of interventional procedures—including angioplasty, stent placement, embolization, needle biopsies, thrombolysis, and uterine fibroid embolization—primarily for adult (geriatric) patients. Collaborating within a skilled team of three physicians and two advanced practice providers, you will support hospital operations during a day-shift schedule with Q3 call coverage, covering every third weekday and weekend. The facility offers a supportive work environment, with on-site lodging available if required, and mileage reimbursement at the IRS standard rate.
Candidates must demonstrate excellent clinical skills, strong decision-making abilities, and the capacity to thrive in a fast-paced hospital atmosphere. Flexibility to accommodate additional travel—particularly for providers able to commit to 3+ weeks of coverage per month—is highly valued.
Required Skills:
- Board Certification in Radiology with Interventional subspecialty
- Current medical license in Michigan or eligible for licensure
- Proven proficiency in performing angioplasty, stent placements, embolizations, biopsies, and thrombolytic procedures
- Ability to handle a high volume of cases (~8 per day)
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Familiarity with hospital documentation systems and EMR (specific systems not specified)
Skills:
- Experience performing orthopedic, gynecological, and urological interventional procedures
- Previous work in Level I trauma centers
- Experience with fast credentialing processes
Education and Experience:
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
- Minimum of 2+ years of post-training experience in a hospital-based interventional radiology setting
- Board-certified or eligible in Interventional Radiology
- Ability to commence within approximately 90 days, with potential for expedited credentialing
- Willingness to provide additional travel for extended coverage when needed
- Certifications in ACLS/BLS preferred
- Valid Michigan medical license or eligibility
