Summer School Teacher: Biking and Birding Tour; Ebersole

The Lansing School District serves over 10,000 PreK-12 students across 25 school buildings in the increasingly diverse urban community of Lansing, MI. These staff members (2 LSEA) would be responsible for attending Ebersole’s mandatory summer camp training on June 11 and one day camp. Onsite staff members will be asked to assist in facilitating/leading camp sessions (all materials and training will be provided in advance). These staff members are expected to ride the bus with students to and from camp for each session.

Join us for a day biking and birding on the Lansing River Trail System. We will make multiple stops throughout the day at Lansing attractions including Hawk Island, Potter Park Zoo, the Museum district, and capital complex, etc. All along the way, we will learn about the exciting hobby of birding.

Staff Training = June 11

CAMP:
Grades 3‑5 = July 28

• Bachelors’ Degree
• Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate (or equivalent)
• Successful experience working with students in K‑12 settings
• Demonstrated commitment to high‑quality planning and engaging content delivery
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills
• Experience and/or willingness to be trained in project‑based learning (PREFERRED)
• Willingness to think creatively about content design and ways to assess student learning
• Commitment to working closely with Ebersole director and staff
