Information Services Associate

The Lansing Public Library is seeking a customer-focused and tech-savvy Information Services Associate to support patrons in accessing library resources, technology, and information. • Assist patrons with reference and information inquiries in person, by phone, and email.
• Support patrons with public computers, printing, and digital resources.
• Help maintain and promote the library’s collection through reader’s advisory, material displays, and resource recommendations.
• Assist in the development and delivery of library programs and events.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of library services, policies, and digital tools.
• Register patrons for programs and study room use.
• Renew license plate stickers.
• Contribute to creating a welcoming, inclusive environment for all visitors.

• Bachelor degree preferred. Minimum of two years towards a bachelor s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Minimum 1 year experience working in a library setting.
• Experience with an automated ILS, preferably Sirsi Dynix.
• Minimum 1 year customer service experience.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Must work days, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Ability to lift 20 lbs.
• Background check required.
• Paid birthday holiday
