- The Department of Economics has a history of employing students to be undergraduate assistants, primarily for EC 201 and EC 202. The Department values the service these students provide to instructors and students. As such, it is imperative that students who are offered and accept a position as an undergraduate assistant take their role and contribution to the department and the students they serve very seriously.
- Staff the EC 201 and EC 202 Help Room assisting students with their course questions and help further students understanding of educational material and topics (requires afternoon and evening commitments between 3:00-9:00 PM Eastern Time)
- Collaborate with 20 Undergraduate Assistants in a Team environment focused on advancing educational initiatives.
- Use creative problem-solving to adapt to different students learning styles to assist them most effectively.
- Other responsibilities based on Department and Faculty needs.
- Be available several times a week Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday between 3:00-6:00 PM and 6:00-9:00 PM.
The expected stipend for the academic year will be approximately $5862 for which students are expected to work 10 hrs. per week.
To be eligible a student must be enrolled as an undergraduate student 2026−2027 and meet the following criteria by the end of Spring 2026 (not Summer 2026):
- have earned a minimum of 45 credits at the time submitting the application
- have earned a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.25
- have earned a minimum EC GPA of 3.5 (EC Satisfactory (S) Grades will be viewed)
- have completed/will complete a minimum of: EC 201 and EC 301 or 251H, and EC 202 and EC 301 or 252H
- be available for an interview in late March or early April, (between March 23rd – March 27th, 2025)
- be available several times a week Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday between 3:00-6:00 PM and 6:00-9:00 PM.
Eligibility related to items: b, c, and d, as identified above will be verified after Spring 2026 grades are available.
