Overview
The Lansing School District serves over 10,000 PreK-12 students across 25 school buildings in the increasingly diverse urban community of Lansing, MI. We are hiring elementary teachers. This role focuses on delivering world-class instruction in a safe and welcoming environment, building inclusive, nurturing classrooms, and collaborating with teachers, parents, and students to provide the best educational experience for all students.
Responsibilities- Demonstrate passion for and expertise in elementary content.
- Provide world-class instruction in math, literacy, social studies, and science to elementary students.
- Use data to guide and effectively differentiate instruction.
- Learn and grow by incorporating feedback from school leaders, colleagues, students, and professional development sessions.
- Build relationships with students and parents to ensure a safe, welcoming, and engaging learning environment.
- Other duties as assigned to best support the Lansing School District mission.
- Bachelor's degree in elementary education or related field
- Alignment with Lansing School District's mission and values
- Previous experience working with elementary students
- Valid Michigan teaching certificate with elementary endorsement (will be required to enroll in program if not currently possessed)
- Previous successful elementary teaching experience in urban setting
- Training in CRPBIS, LETRS, Go Math, UFLi, and other related instructional methodologies
$48,585 - $95,000 a year
