Position: Great Start Readiness Program and Skip Home Visitor Coordinator
Job Summary
The GSRP and SKIP Site Coordinator provides oversight and coordination of GSRP satellite sites in Genesee County and the SKIP Home Visiting Program. The Site Coordinator will serve as the building point person to assure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, policies, and procedures including the GSRP Implementation Manual, MDHHS Affiliate Implementation Manual and the Michigan Child Care Licensing requirements as applicable.
The Site Coordinator will interact with students, parents, teachers, home visitors and administrators to coordinate services in the GSRP program. The Site Coordinator will work as part of a collaborative team guided by the GSRP Coordinator. A program administrator will provide administrative and evaluative oversight of building staff and operations in conjunction with the Site Coordinator. The Site Coordinator will also provide on-going support for continuous quality improvement.
The Site Coordinator is responsible for assessing, planning, and coaching for a developmentally appropriate early childhood program, which meets the social, emotional, intellectual and physical needs of young children.
Essential Duties
Serves as the Site Coordinator for GSRP satellite sites as assigned. Coordinate the SKIP Program in conjunction with the SKIP Home Base Specialist. Coordinate students, staff, and parents in daily program operations.Responsible for full enrollment efforts into GSRP classrooms and SKIP Program utilizing Michigan Preschool and through promotion and collaboration with the local school districts.Coaches and mentors teachers and home visitors in planning individual and group activities to stimulate growth in literacy, language, mathematics, science, social and motor skills. This includes learning to respond to stories read aloud, listening to instructions, playing with others, using senses to explore and manipulate classroom materials and using play equipment. Planning is to be in accordance with National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) best practice guidelines, Michigan Early Childhood Standards of Quality, Creative Curriculum or Parents as Teachers as applicable.Assesses assigned GSRP classrooms using Classroom Assessment Scoring System (CLASS).Implements coaching strategies for GSRP teachers which includes direct instruction, modeling teaching, suggestions regarding modifying the classroom environment, schedule, or other factors that will improve teaching and learning.Models, supports, and monitors effective child observation assessment, accurate record keeping, and data analysis using Smart Teach or Visit Tracker as applicable.Assists the teachers and home visitors in interpreting the developmental screenings and child observation assessments to determine each child’s development. Data is used for planning instruction and reporting results to program administrators and parents.Supports GSRP teachers in providing intentional family engagement opportunities for families while meeting requirements of the GSRP Implementation Manual.Supports the SKIP Home Visiting Specialist in the coordination of parent-child playgroups and creating meaningful community and school connections to promote utilization of the program.Assists in planning and providing professional development for the GSRP and SKIP staff.Conducts and participates as needed in staff and center team meetings.Participates in required professional development.Coordinates services, training, and monitoring with GSRP Coordinator.In consultation with program administrators, assures compliance with federal, state, local, and school district regulations, policies, and procedures.Assures completion of the necessary paperwork, documentation, narrative reports, correspondence, and evaluation measures to ensure all grant requirements are met in a professional and timely manner.Maintains effective and appropriate communication with building staff, program staff, and program administrators as needed and required.Provides oversight of GSRP building staff and classroom and building operations including, but not limited to food service, maintenance, building schedules,…
