In pursuit of this mission, we are looking to hire an CTE Educational Careers Teacher.

In alignment with our mission to provide an excellent education in a safe and supportive environment, we are seeking a Career and Technical Education (CTE) Educational Careers Teacher. This educator will deliver high-quality, industry-aligned instruction that prepares students for careers in education, including teaching, training, and school-based professions.
This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about developing future educators through hands-on learning experiences, classroom-based fieldwork, and opportunities to explore the teaching profession in real-world settings.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in elementary or secondary education
- Valid Michigan Department of Education CTE teaching certificate in CIP Code 13.0000 (Education General - Teacher Cadet), or eligibility to obtain an Annual Career Authorization (ACA) with 4,000 hours of recent, relevant work experience within the past five years
- Demonstrated experience working with high-school aged students and diverse student populations
- Demonstrated knowledge of effective instructional practices and classroom management strategies
- Deliver instruction aligned to state-approved standards for CIP Code 13.0000
- Plan and implement effective lessons that support high-quality student learning
- Establish and maintain a safe, structured, and productive classroom environment
- Use assessments and data to monitor student progress and inform instruction
- Maintain accurate records, including attendance, grading, and required documentation
- Support student growth through work-based learning and CTSO participation opportunities
- Collaborate with local businesses and community organizations to provide internship
- Organize and facilitate at least two advisory committee meetings annually
- Communicate regularly and effectively with students, families, and caregivers
- Participate actively in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs)
- Engage in ongoing professional development and maintain required certifications/credentials
- Complete annual CIP self-review and required program reporting
- Perform other duties as assigned in support of district goals
- The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
- Must be able to move throughout the building and campus, including classrooms, hallways, and outdoor spaces.
- Frequent verbal communication is required to instruct students, lead meetings, and collaborate with staff and families.
- May be required to stand or walk for extended periods, including during supervisory duties.
- Occasional bending, reaching, or sitting on the floor to interact with students.
- Regular use of computers and instructional technology for planning, instruction, and communication.
- Must be able to lift or carry instructional materials and supplies weighing up to 25 pounds.

This is a part-time (0.5 FTE) position with a daily schedule of 3.5 hours, Monday through Friday.
