We are seeking to establish a pool of Special Needs Education Assistants for permanent and fixed‑term, full‑time and part‑time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year and up to the end of Term 2, 2027. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.
Australind Senior High School is located 1.5 hours from Perth in the South West region of Western Australia and serves 1100 students.
The RoleSuitable applicants will assist teaching staff in the delivery of planned education programmes and in promoting a supportive and inclusive learning environment. They will also provide feedback on education and therapy programmes, participate in the evaluation of student progress, and assist with the general health and wellbeing of students.
Suitable applicants will ideally possess strong communication, interpersonal and leadership skills to develop and promote the school’s values, ethos and priorities across the school community. They should be compassionate and work collaboratively to implement documented plans.
Applicants should be able to build and maintain positive working relationships with staff, students and teachers, and have working knowledge of a range of evidence‑based techniques for learning and behaviour. Experience or knowledge of disabilities such as autism spectrum disorder is desirable.
