Position Summary

The educators who serve as resilience team members will help implement and sustain Tier 1 school-wide positive behavioral support systems. Responsibilities include actively participating in team meetings, analyzing behavior and attendance data, and assisting in the development and delivery of school-wide expectations and interventions. They also promote positive student and staff experiences, and ensure the Positive Behavioral Interventions and Support (PBIS) framework is followed consistently across the school.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Work interdependently to achieve common goals for which team members hold themselves mutually accountable.
  • Attend and actively participate in resilience team meetings.
  • Help define, teach, and reinforce school-wide behavioral expectations and assist in developing and implementing support systems for all students.
  • Contribute to the collection, management, and analysis of school behavior and attendance data to identify trends and inform decision‑making.
  • Help plan and lead identified action steps based on data reviews, which may include activities such as co‑planning and/or co‑facilitating professional development, and building systems of mutual support and accountability.
  • Serve as a resource for other staff members, provide training, and assist with the delivery of PBIS‑related materials to staff, students, and families.
  • Support two‑way communication efforts with staff, students, and families about PBIS initiatives, and help with activities like celebrations and positive rewards.
  • Participate in fidelity checks to ensure the PBIS program is implemented correctly and support the evaluation of its effectiveness.
  • Show up as learners, engaging in professional reading, discussion, and reflection, public sharing of team products, and giving and receiving feedback.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • A demonstrated record of effectiveness of their own teaching.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work well with others, which includes creating and maintaining a team culture that is both positive and inclusive.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • Possess a Bachelor’s Degree from accredited college or university.
  • Valid Michigan teaching certificate with endorsements applicable to grade level/content area of the position.
  • Lifelong learner with a collaborative spirit.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
  • Experience working with students in a diverse, multicultural academic setting.
