Adjunct Positions are filled by semester on an as needed basis. Applicants in this applicant pool are reviewed when the department has an immediate need to fill a vacancy. Review of applications will then stop for the semester once the vacancy has been filled.

The Music Program at Lansing Community College is seeking adjunct (part‑time) faculty to teach Music Technology courses. Faculty may have the opportunity to teach other courses in the Music Program. Participate in program/department meetings and divisional/college‑wide committees with a focus on continual improvement of programs and learning outcomes. Participate in curriculum and course development, course and program coordination, tutoring and advising students, mentoring and reviewing peers, and College initiatives.

Participate in student assessment initiatives within the program and college, and implement the determinations of those initiatives. Must demonstrate a commitment to the diversity of a multi‑cultural population, as well as, work effectively in a team‑based environment while seeking continuous improvement and adherence to the community college philosophy.

Regular on‑campus presence is expected for all LCC employment. Any flexible work schedules and/or hybrid work schedules approved by the College are subject to change based on the needs of the LCC community.

LCC policy requires all LCC employees to be residents of the State of Michigan and to perform all work (with limited exceptions) within the State of Michigan.

Final candidates will be subject to a criminal background check as part of the employment process.

Required Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Music from a regionally accredited college or university; or Master's degree in a related field (from a regionally accredited college or university) with a minimum of 18 semester hours (or 27 quarter hours) of graduate‑level coursework in Music.
  • Alternative

    Qualification:

    Bachelor's degree in Music or related from a regionally accredited college or university plus 2 years of professional experience; or Associate's degree in Music or related from a regionally accredited college or university plus 4 years of professional experience; or 6 years of professional experience.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience teaching at a college level (may include graduate teaching assistant).
  • Experience working in a recording studio.
  • Experience running sound for live performances.
