Job Summary
Wacousta Elementary is seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as a 4th Grade Teacher. This full‑time position involves creating a positive and engaging learning environment for students, fostering their academic growth and social development. The ideal candidate will be committed to delivering high‑quality instruction, collaborating with colleagues, and actively involving parents and the community in the educational process.
Responsibilities- Develop and implement lesson plans that align with state standards and cater to the diverse learning needs of students.
- Create a nurturing classroom environment that encourages student participation, collaboration, and respect.
- Assess and evaluate student progress through various methods, including tests, projects, and observations, and provide constructive feedback.
- Utilize a variety of instructional strategies and resources to enhance student learning and engagement.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to foster a supportive educational community.
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to develop interdisciplinary lessons and school‑wide initiatives.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational best practices and enhance teaching skills.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and other required documentation.
- Address individual student needs and implement appropriate interventions for those requiring additional support.
- Contribute to the overall school environment by participating in school events, meetings, and committees.
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field.
- Valid state teaching certification for elementary education.
- Experience working with elementary‑aged students, preferably in a classroom setting.
- Strong knowledge of curriculum development and instructional strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to create a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
- Proficiency in using technology for instruction and classroom management.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and collaboration with colleagues.
