Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team at Reed City Middle School as a Math Interventionist Paraprofessional. This full‑time position is designed for an individual who is passionate about supporting students in their mathematical learning and development. The Math Interventionist Paraprofessional will work closely with teachers and students to provide targeted instructional support, helping to improve student understanding and performance in mathematics.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the classroom teacher in implementing math intervention programs and strategies for students who require additional support.
  • Provide one‑on‑one and small group instruction to students in various mathematical concepts and skills.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback to the classroom teacher and adjusting instructional approaches as needed.
  • Collaborate with teachers to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with specific learning needs.
  • Support students in building confidence and positive attitudes toward mathematics through encouragement and motivation.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and interventions, reporting findings to the teacher and administration.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance instructional strategies and stay current with best practices in math education.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes student engagement and success.
  • Assist in the preparation of instructional materials and classroom organization related to math activities.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff regarding student progress and needs.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree or higher in education, mathematics, or a related field preferred.
  • Previous experience working with students in an educational setting, particularly in math instruction or intervention.
  • Strong understanding of mathematical concepts and effective teaching strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with students, teachers, and parents.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being able to work independently.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping students succeed in math.
  • Proficient in using educational technology and software to support instruction and student learning.
  • Must pass background checks and meet any additional state or district requirements for paraprofessionals.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuous improvement in instructional practices.
