Part‑Time Resource Room Teacher

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop and deliver specially designed instruction aligned to each student’s Individualized Education Program (IEP).
• Create and maintain a safe, positive, structured, and engaging classroom environment that supports student learning and growth.
• Collaborate closely with families, paraprofessionals, related service providers, administrators, and general education staff to support student achievement and progress.
• Communicate regularly and effectively with parents/guardians regarding student progress.
• Write, maintain, and implement compliant and effective Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) that support student growth and achievement.
• Collect, maintain, and analyze student progress monitoring data to support instructional decision‑making and IEP goal implementation.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse academic, behavioral, social, and emotional needs of students.
• Foster a classroom culture that values inclusion, independence, respect, growth, and student success.
• Maintain accurate and timely classroom, behavioral, and student progress records while ensuring confidentiality and compliance with special education laws and district procedures.
• Work collaboratively as a positive team member to help all students build their success stories.
• Demonstrate professionalism, flexibility, and a commitment to continuous learning and improvement.
• This position requires regular and reliable in‑person attendance.

TEACHING

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Michigan Certification and Endorsement for appropriate grade levels required
• Must meet all of the NCLB qualifications
• Knowledge of special education laws, IEP process, and evidence‑based practices
