PAY RATE: $ 85,000 - $ 110,905 DOQ

PURPOSE: The Elementary School Principal serves as the instructional and operational leader of the school, fostering a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment where every student can thrive. The principal is responsible for promoting academic excellence, ensuring equitable access to high-quality instruction, building strong relationships with families and the community, and effectively managing school resources to support student success. The successful candidate will lead with integrity, vision, and collaboration while supporting the District’s Strategic Plan and maintaining high expectations for students, staff, and school culture

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s degree with School Principal or Professional School Principal certification, including any additional certifications required by the State Board of Education.
  • Demonstrated commitment to educational equity, diversity, inclusion, and belonging.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and build positive relationships with a diverse range of students, staff, families, and community stakeholders.
  • Successful teaching experience with evidence of strong instructional practices.
  • Proven ability to lead school personnel in achieving goals aligned to the District’s Strategic Plan.
  • Demonstrated skill in developing teacher and staff capacity through classroom observation, feedback, coaching, and professional learning.
  • Experience leading data-informed continuous improvement efforts related to instruction, school climate, and student achievement.
  • Ability to cultivate a culture of collective responsibility focused on the academic growth and success of every student.
  • Evidence of creating and sustaining a safe, positive, and student-centered school climate through strong partnerships with staff, parents, and the community.
  • Demonstrated success improving student achievement outcomes in English Language Arts (ELA), Mathematics, or Science, including measurable progress in closing achievement and opportunity gaps for student subgroups.
  • Excellent oral, written, interpersonal, and organizational communication skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Successful experience serving as a school or district administrator.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of teaching experience and three (3) years of administrative experience in an elementary or related educational setting.
  • Experience supporting or leading Early Childhood programming.
  • Demonstrated ability to foster collaborative professional learning communities and a positive staff culture.
  • Experience engaging families and community partners to support student achievement and well-being.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversees the daily management of the school and office.
  • Oversees educators in the school, providing periodic observations and evaluations that are timely and constructive and completed based on the timetables set by the school district.
  • Offers additional training and guidance as necessary based on evaluations of professional staff.
  • Hires all faculty and staff for the school and presides over hearings that may be necessary to dismiss a staff member.
  • Oversees, hires, and evaluates the performance of clerical, janitorial, and cafeteria staff.
  • Ensures a productive learning environment through continual collaboration with teachers, students, and parents.
  • Facilitates opportunities to connect with students by being present and available during arrival and dismissal, by appearing at school functions, and by meeting with students.
  • Enforces disciplinary policies and procedures with students.
  • Participates in parent meetings and conferences and acts as an intermediary between parents, teachers, and students to deal with a variety of needs or issues.
