Early Childhood Floater Substitute (Job )

Riley Farms Elementary (Home building Riley Farms)
Report To:
Federal Grants Coordinator
Commencing:
September 26, 2025
Hours:
Monday – Friday, 35 hours a week (Full Time/School Year)
Position Type:
Elementary School Teaching / Early Childhood

Qualifications- Possess the credentials to obtain a Michigan Substitute Permit
- Hold current certifications in CPR and First Aid (training will be provided)
- Willingness to complete all health and safety requirements as mandated by LARA licensing by the State of Michigan
- Prior teaching experience with preschool‑aged children, especially those considered at‑risk, is preferred
- Familiarity with research‑based preschool curriculum and knowledge of Michigan's Early Childhood Standards of Quality for Pre‑Kindergarten (ECSQ‑PK) are preferred
- Provide classroom coverage for lead and/or associate teachers during absences
- Support the implementation of daily lesson plans, routines, and activities as directed
- Foster a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment
- Assist children with transitions, self‑help skills, meals, rest time, and outdoor play
- Use positive behavior guidance strategies to support children’s social‑emotional development
- Maintain consistent routines and reinforce classroom expectations to provide stability for students
- Communicate effectively with classroom staff, site supervisor, and program director regarding classroom needs and student progress
- Follow licensing regulations, GSRP requirements, and district policies
- Participate in ongoing professional development as requested
- Reaching – extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction
- Lifting – raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally; requires substantial use of upper extremities and back muscles
- Grasping – applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm
- Talking – expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; requires clear, accurate, and often loud communication
- Hearing – perceiving sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction, and receiving detailed information through oral communication
- Repetitive motions – making substantial movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers
- Worker is subject to environmental conditions and should provide consistent and reliable attendance
