Position: High School World Language Teacher (Spanish)

The Lansing School District serves over 10,000 PreK-12 students across 25 school buildings in the increasingly diverse urban community of Lansing, MI. In pursuit of this mission, we are hiring a High School World Teacher (Spanish). Our teachers must also work to build safe, nurturing classrooms where students can be themselves and work collaboratively towards common learning goals. Teachers will work alongside other teachers, parents, and students to ensure they are providing the best education experience to all students.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in language education or related field
  • Alignment with Lansing School District's mission and values
Preferred Qualifications
  • Valid Michigan Teacher Certificate with world language endorsement (i.e. FA, FB, FC, FC, FF, FG, FH, FJ, FK, FL, FN, FR, FS)
  • Previous successful teaching experience in an urban setting
Job Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate passion for and expertise in specific language and culture
  • Provide world-class instruction
  • Use data to guide and effectively differentiate instruction
  • Learn and grow by incorporating feedback from school leaders, colleagues, students, and professional development sessions
  • Build relationships with students and parents to ensure a safe, welcoming, and engaging learning environment
  • Other duties as assigned to best support the Lansing School District mission
