In pursuit of this mission, we are looking to hire a High School Interventionist (Math Certified).
We are seeking a highly motivated and certified High School Academic Interventionist with an endorsement in Mathematics to join our secondary education team. This role is ideal for a passionate educator who excels in building relationships, is well-organized, and is committed to providing personalized academic support to students in grades 9-12. The Academic Interventionist will play a key role in helping students meet academic benchmarks through a combination of in-person and online support.
Qualifications - Education & Certifications
- Valid Michigan teaching certificate with Math endorsement (6-12 or secondary).
- Must be EX Certified.
- Familiarity with online learning platforms, especially Edgenuity, or willingness to be trained.
- Proven ability to tutor and support students across high school grade levels (9-12). Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build rapport with diverse student populations. Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and student data systems.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple responsibilities, and take initiative.
- Experience in academic intervention, credit recovery, or online/hybrid learning environments.
- Background in tracking student attendance, academic metrics, and implementing data-driven interventions.
- Experience working with high school students in a support or instructional role.
- Prior involvement with test administration or coordination of standardized testing processes.
- Provide academic support and tutoring to students in grades 9-12, both in person and online, with a focus on Math content and related coursework.
- Monitor attendance and coursework completion fora designated grade
-level cohort, using data systems and online platforms. - Take and maintain attendance records based on student engagement and coursework progress.
- Actively participate in weekly Student Progress Meetings to discuss student needs and plan targeted interventions.
- Collaborate closely with teachers, counselors, and administrators to implement individualized support strategies.
- Leverage online systems such as Enginuity to track student progress and assist with virtual instruction.
- Build positive relationships with students to foster academic motivation, consistency, and accountability.
- Use Microsoft Excel and other data tracking tools to manage and report on student progress and intervention effectiveness.
- Demonstrate the ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team focused on student achievement.
- Function as a self-starter, capable of managing a flexible schedule and adapting support based on student needs.
- Assist with the administration and coordination of both state and local testing, including preparation, proctoring, and follow-up tasks.
- Ensure compliance with testing protocols and timelines, supporting accurate and efficient test implementation.
- The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
- Must be able to move throughout the building and campus, including classrooms, hallways, and outdoor spaces.
- Frequent verbal communication is required to instruct students, lead meetings, and collaborate with staff and families.
- May be required to stand or walk for extended periods, including during supervisory duties.
- Occasional bending, reaching, or sitting on the floor to interact with students.
