Summary

Brandon Elementary is seeking a passionate and creative individual to join our team as a full‑time Elementary Art & Music Teacher. The ideal candidate will inspire and nurture the artistic and musical talents of our students in a supportive and engaging environment. This role requires a dynamic educator who can integrate art and music into the curriculum, fostering creativity and self‑expression among young learners.

• Develop and implement engaging art and music lesson plans that align with the school's curriculum and educational standards.
• Teach a variety of art techniques, music theory, and performance skills to students in grades K-5.
• Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and creativity.
• Assess and evaluate student progress, providing constructive feedback to support individual growth.
• Collaborate with other teachers and staff to integrate art and music across various subjects and school events.
• Organise and participate in school‑wide art exhibitions, music performances, and other related activities.
• Maintain an organised and resourceful art and music classroom, ensuring all materials are available and in good condition.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents and colleagues to foster a supportive learning community.
• Stay current with best practices in art and music education through professional development and continuing education.

• Bachelor's degree in Art Education, Music Education or a related field.
• Valid teaching certification or licence in Art and Music Education for elementary levels.
• Proven experience teaching art and music to elementary‑aged students.
• Strong knowledge of various art mediums and music genres, techniques and educational methodologies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with students and foster a collaborative environment.
• Creative mindset with a passion for inspiring students and a commitment to their artistic and musical development.
• Ability to adapt lessons to meet the diverse needs of students, including those with varying abilities and backgrounds.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
