Extended School Year (ESY) Teacher (Special Education) – Multiple Positions

Schedule:

ESY Set‑Up Days:
Monday, June 29 and Tuesday, June 30. Student Service Days:
Monday, July 6 – Thursday, August 6, 2026 (Mon‑Thurs for a 5‑week period). Daily times:
Full day / specific hours to be determined.

Pay: $40 per hour.

• Current, valid Michigan teaching certificate with one or more special education endorsements.
• Previous work experience with students with significant disabilities, including severe learning disabilities, cognitive impairment, severe multiple impairment, autism spectrum disorder, or emotional impairment.
• CPI certified.
• Willingness to collaborate with other teachers and align instructional practice.
• Demonstrated proficiency with specialized instructional techniques, including:
• Facilitating engagement of students, parents/family/caregivers.
• Providing parent support, consultation, and resources to address student needs at home.
• Using formative assessments to differentiate and inform instruction.
• Using explicit instruction, active learning, manipulatives, and visual displays to scaffold comprehension.
• Utilizing Universal Design for Learning (UDL).
• Implementing students' individual Positive Behavior Support Plans and universal positive interventions.
• Monitoring and reporting progress.

• Plan and conduct instructional and daily lesson/activity planning to address individualized IEP/ESY needs and goals for each student.
• Provide specialized instruction for identified IEP goal areas.
• Implement PBSPs and positive behavioral supports.
• Participate in CPI team responses as necessary.
• Communicate with school team, providers, parents, and community providers to coordinate services.
• Document all services provided, attendance participation, and goal/objective progress over the ESY period.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Maintain on‑site presence.
