The Lansing School District serves over 10,000 PreK-12 students across 25 school buildings in the diverse urban community of Lansing, MI. All team members are dedicated to our mission to provide an excellent education to all students in a safe and nurturing environment.

We are hiring a Speech & Language Pathologist. The role is responsible for identifying speech and language needs in students and delivering intervention to support those needs.

Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Speech & Language Pathology (or related field)
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence or be in a Clinical Fellowship Year
  • Speech‑Language Pathologist Certification
  • Commitment to Lansing School District’s mission and vision
  • 5+ years of experience working with children, their families, and school support systems
  • Experience working with a diverse student population in an urban school setting
  • Ability to conduct and attend IEP meetings; write and monitor IEPs as needed
  • Experience conducting REEDs to evaluate students
  • Proficiency in submitting reports, data, and documentation in a timely manner
  • Ability to schedule and deliver speech and/or language instruction to a caseload of students
  • Skill in coordinating and providing consultative services to teachers, parents, and special education staff in speech and language matters
  • Willingness to perform other tasks as needed to best serve Lansing students
Physical Requirements
  • Must move throughout the building and campus, including classrooms, hallways, and outdoor spaces
  • Frequently engage in verbal communication to instruct students, lead meetings, and collaborate with staff and families
  • May be required to stand or walk for extended periods, including during supervisory duties
  • Occasional bending, reaching, or sitting on the floor to interact with students
  • Regular use of computers and instructional technology for planning, instruction, and communication
  • Must be able to lift or carry instructional materials and supplies weighing up to 25 pounds
