Middle School Reading Strategies Teacher

• Provide world‑class instruction in ELA to middle and high school students.
• Use data to guide and effectively differentiate instruction.
• Learn and grow by incorporating feedback from school leaders, colleagues, students, and professional development sessions.
• Build relationships with students and parents to ensure a safe, welcoming, and engaging learning environment.
• Other duties as assigned to best support the Lansing School District mission.

• Bachelor's degree in education or ELA‑related field (e.g., Journalism, Screenwriting, Communications, etc.).
• Previous experience working with middle school and high school students.
• Alignment with Lansing School District's mission and values.
• Valid Michigan teaching certificate with a secondary ELA endorsement (e.g., BA, BC, BD, BQ, etc.).
• Previous teaching experience in an urban setting.
• Training in CRPBIS and other related instructional methodologies.
• Demonstrate passion for and expertise in creative writing, communication, digital media studies, and other secondary ELA content.
