Pathways Academy is a public charter school that has a unique and flexible learning environment that allows school‑aged parents to successfully complete their education. We are looking for highly dedicated professionals who want to make a difference in the lives of these students. The school offers an intimate setting of under 200 students with a blended instructional model. Students from grades 7 through 12 attend school while their child care needs are being met at the same location or virtually online while being supported off‑site by a mentor or advocate.

We currently have an opening for a Middle & High School Science Teacher for the  School year, beginning August 31, 2026. This is a 10‑month position.

The Science Teacher will develop flexible, effective teaching methods to help students learn science, communicate with students in an understandable, effective way about daily lessons and instructions, establish clear learning objectives, conduct student assessments to plan instruction and evaluate student learning, and collaborate with a school’s administration in enforcing rules of behavior, class participation and conduct for students.

• Hold a Teaching Certification from the Michigan Department of Education with a DX, DQ or DI endorsement
• 3 years of teaching experience (preferred)
• Require a criminal history background check, proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status.
• Successful track record working with at-risk students in grades 7‑12 and alternative populations.
• Demonstrate knowledge in the area of specific teacher subject and computer technology
• Ability to maintain a positive learning environment
• Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills
